DefaultQuestion

I just found out that Eras is running a very tight ship and doesn't allow non-reptile related posts such as " What are your other hobbies " i am just wondering if Taras is run the same? I go away for a year and everything changes!! also i hope i am not stepping on anyone's toes.. just curious as to rules... I thought these forums were a place to come learn, make new friends and hang out and talk about different topics (mostly reptile related of course)! I have been a member on this site for YEARS.. but I just never post as I live in edmonton! but everyone here is very friendly, and most are on both sites!

Unless its deemed to be unappropriate due to being of a nonfamily/adult nature etc. its still a "free-for-all" friendly type atmosphere here on these forums.
Recent one that comes to mind is the Zombie thread, zero mention of zombie reptiles at all LOL Cheers Mark

Zombie reptiles... That right there is a script that writes itself. Better copyright that, Mark, and quick!

Haha.

Hi Bean.

Yes quite a few of us are members on both. Rules are different for each forum, which is why each forum tends to have it's own unique 'feel', I suppose. I've also PM'd you some other forum suggestions as well, if you're looking around for some new places to check out.

TARAS is great though. I got the chance to meet several members from here at the CRE and everyone was helpful, fun and very informative. Definitely spend some time here for sure, as it will be well worth it.

Variety is the spice of life. Many people are members of multiple forums

Ahem if i might add that You will notice that Things have Changed. And the Moderators were told To Relax on the Reptile only things Our Forums are in a state of Flux as we would like to focus on the reason the forums were there and that is the education of the hobby to new keepers.

Bean Please if you have any questions Re guarding the eras forums feel free to e-mail me and i will answer any questions you have.

i like the "ahem" lmao!!!! just think it's funny... we used to joke around. i agree on making it an informative experence, but seriously.... it's not a communist community (not meant in any disrespect) just that I have spoken to a lot of people who have backed off the board in question due to the new politics involved! we're all there for the love of the hobby, why no have fun with it?! as long as it's family friendly... i don't see an issue. no swear words, no lude pics... but if I wanted to post a pic of my dog staring at a fish tank it's be taken down or locked? I just find it a little bit over kill for a public forum! again not trying to offend anyone, i have been a member on both forums for many years...

This is not a communist community. We are a reptile society the forums we provide are a privlidge and are to be run as we see fit as an executive voted in by the membership. If the membership doesnt like the way things are run. They can simply have someone Nominated to replace the current exec if they are willing to step up and take the role on. Last time i checked the last board had 5 people acclimated into the role this year. Membership has its privledges one of them is picking who runs the society.

The ERAS forums have had some changes the rules have been layed out as we have tried something out it didnt work and the mods were told to relax and they have. They are volunteers like the executive afterall are human and mistakes are made. Sadly i have to say if you dont like how the fourms are dont post its that simple. But before you go complaining about it publicly somewhere else make sure you contact an executive and ask them about it.

But its ok your just another forum member using a free service provided by a society Run buy volunteers and its members and last time i checked you were not but i mean no disrespect.
