i think the big problem here is that in a country that is that populated if even less than one percent still think that sort of thing is acceptable and the other 99 are educated or know better that one percent is still several million . just like the chinese medical trade this thing is running on pure myth and superstition

Wonder if you can get the shoes with the turtles in the heels too?
They have had fish ones like that in the past afterall
I'd rather see them eating them than this crap anyhow, Mark
P.S. disposable pets indeed

Because watching a small creature slowly asphyxiate or starve is sure to bring good luck... =/

You should have seen it in Mexico! 75-100 turtles in a tank around 20 gallons. No filter or heater. Water was yellow and green. And no basking light.
These guys were being sold for roughly $1.80 cad. It was incredibly sad.

I saw similar things when I was in Cali a couple years ago. One 30-40 gal tank had close to 50 soft shell turtles in it, all about 3-4 inch shell, going for less then $20/each. Another shop we went in had a similar sized tank with at least 40 iguanas inside, they could hardly move around, also for less then $20.

Pretty sad, made me wish I could take a few home with me to save them
