    Default Thanks For The Show...

This was my first time on the show promoter side for TARAS and in the Volunteer Coordinator position as well. Overall, I thought the show was a huge success, considering we were in a new location. I wanted to personally thank all of the vendors who came to show off their animals and other reptile relate stuff! I got to meet many really cool people that put an enormous amount of work into bringing a healthy, diverse and wide selection of different animals for us to peruse. This event would not happen without our great vendors, but it certainly wouldn't happen without our volunteers either! We had an amazing group of young volunteers that are the future of our hobby come out and I got the opportunity to get to know each and every one of them a little bit and realize how passionate they are about their animals at home and the enthusiasm they bring to an event like this! We can all use a little bit if youthfulness and have fun like this group of herpers! We also had some mature volunteers, like myself (ahem!) that enjoy giving our time too, and I thank you also! I would also like to thank the other fabulous core of volunteers that I have had the honour of getting to know over the last several months! They work tirelessly on putting all of the events that we do, from our spring and fall shows, Reptilemania, events like the fish hatchery and school related events, etc. When I signed on to be a board member, I had no idea just how hard this core group works in getting 'out there' to educate the public on these wonderful creatures we get to call pets. After we 'lick our wounds' so to speak, the Board will be reflecting on the successes and challenges we faced over this weekend so that we can continue to work hard at improving which, in my opinion is already a really great show. For the few moments that we had to reflect on the show already over the weekend, we realized that we will be asking the vendors for their opinions for improvements. There was one more group of people that I wanted to thank... that's right, all the people that paid to come out to the show! I truly enjoyed watching the faces on the people walking out, obviously with their first reptile in a small tub! I asked several of them what they got and what it was and it really was nice to hear their excitement as they described their new animal to me. Everyone of them were sooo proud to show off their new acquisition. It brought back memories of not that long ago when I got my first reptile...

Anyways, if I have forgotten to thank anyone that helped out or is connected to the show, TARAS community or general public, I do apologize. Thank you all for making the show a blast for me!

First of all a huge thank you for all of the support. To the Volunteers who spent countless hours this weekend not just with setting up and taking down, but also running the show itself. I wanted to name a few people in particular who took the time this weekend and really helped make the show amazing!

Chad - Awesome Job on the volunteers, we had a great group of individuals out this weekend supporting TARAS.
Kyle - As always Thank you for donating so much of your time to help putting this show together.
Mandie - The raffle was fantastic and we had a great selection of prizes!
Amanda - Coming all the way down from Edmonton and spending probably 90% or more of her time helping out anywhere she was needed!
Mandy (Sp.) and Jay - Thank you both for coming out Saturday and helping us with just about everything!
Jordan - Thank you for volunteering your time this weekend to come help us out! It was great having you there, and hopefully you will come back for the next show!
Teena - I honestly don't know how you do it, but the amount of energy you put into Kids Corner each show is truly amazing.

There were a few others I wanted to Thank, however I feel terrible as your names are escaping me at the moment (sorry working on pretty much no sleep this weekend).

It was shows like this, that make me proud to be a part of an amazing community.

Again Great show, and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

I am very happy with how this show turned out. We were at a brand new venue with a pretty new board. We did not get the full venue handed over until way later on Friday then we would have like but the amazing volunteers made it work and got every thing setup for the vendors. We will be asking the Vendors for some feedback in the next few days as well as announcing the winner for the free table at our fall show which will be held down at the Mid sun community center. Over all we had a great weekend and are looking forward to the ERAS show in a few weeks and the Fall shows to follow.

It was a good showing but could have had a bit better signage to direct people down stairs. Once inside I believe the set up was done very well. Any word on how many people turned out yet??

We had 2146 people out this show and another 44 that came in for free in the last few minutes just to pop their heads in, making 2190 if you choose to count them. :P We had more people out each day than we did at the last show, so that is good!

It was a great show and I really enjoyed this venue. Everybody did such a good job of putting it on, and I thought it rocked. We had more volunteers than usual and great selection with the many vendors. All in all, I'm very happy with it and am proud of everyone for putting it on!! Thanks everyone!! It was a great weekend.

It was a great show, would love to see it grow too! A lot of people had a hard time finding where in the building it was located, but I think we all found it eventually. Thanks a bunch to all of you hard workers!
