
You don't need to culture them. They're sold in sawdust and you can just leave them in the container at room temperature. When they pupate, open the container and put it in the cage. The emerging flies will all be instant, confined targets.
Never, ever try meal moths. Did that once, learned from the mistake. The caterpillars chew through plastic bags and invade seeds, nuts, grains, etc.
The trend is to post names and numbers of "pets" here. That seems...um...bulky.
