3rd Annual Alberta Reptile Enthusiasts Meeting
    Saturday June 22, 2013
Ian Kanda and Colin Sanders will be speaking on Amphibian Conservation
    Other speakers to be announced.
This is the annual gathering of ERAS, TARAS, and all Albertan Enthusiasts to meet, greet, learn and have fun.
There will be time allocated to discuss issues that affect us in Alberta, be it laws, disease, conservation or otherwise.
Watch for updates at www.edmontonreptiles.com, or look for a flyer at ERAS or TARAS events this spring.

If the TARAS exec wouldn't mind, could you please stop by the ERAS/TARAS discussion boards for a bit more on this.

With this post I just wanted people to be able to mark their calendars for something else to look forward to this spring/early summer. I'll try to post updates in this thread as well

    Ian

    More information on this!
This will be at the Sand's Hotel, the same location as our Expos.
We have Jeff Lemm coming as a keynote speaker!

Jeff Lemm is a Senior Research Coordinator and herpetologist at the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research where he has been employed for the last 21 years. Jeff has been involved in a wide array of herpetological research over the past two decades including research and conservation programs on: Cyclura, Varanus, Phrynosoma, Brachylophus, native San Diego herpetofauna, and the critically endangered Mountain Yellow-legged frog (Rana muscosa). Jeff has published nearly 60 scientific and popular articles on reptiles and amphibians and has published two books (FIeld Guide to Amphibians and Reptiles of the San Diego Region and Cyclura: Natural History, Captive Husbandry, and Conservation of West Indian Rock Iguanas). Jeff is an avid fieldherper and photographer and founded the North American Field Herping Association (NAFHA) in 2006. Jeff also keeps and breeds a wide array of herps at home and has been doing so for over 30 years. Jeff's ventures have taken him all over the world in search of reptiles and amphibians and he loves nothing more than being in the field with his wife, Carolyn, and their three children: Matty, Garrett, and Sydney (who are already avid herpers)!

We are also close to securing another keynote speaker from the herpetoculture world that will knock your socks off! This event fits strongly with both ERAS and TARAS's mandates of education, conservation, and being a place for herp enthusiasts to have fun!~

Stay tuned for more information, and be sure to have June 22, 2013 marked off on your calendars for a trip up to Edmonton! I believe TARAS will be organizing some sort of carpooling/travel to make this available to everyone.

I just wanted to remind everyone to please send me an email to let me know you're coming. I know of a few that are planning on it, but I havn't gotten an email.
    It's getting closer!

If there is anything that you would like to see on the agenda for the meeting/discussion portion, please let me know.

    I'll post a schedule as it's finished.

Hi Ian I think that I'm the only one able to make it from the TARAS board. I just wasn't clear on what time I need to be there at?
