Default Proportional heating control and misting system

Wondering if anyone is using an automatic controls for heating and humidity controls for a large snake habitat?

I'm building a 6' wide x 5' high x 30" deep habitat for our two pythons. Both are very active and love climbing. I'm considering using Herpstat 4 to manage heat in the nest and overhead areas, along with a misting system for humidity control. I have a large pool area heated by an overhead lamp. Do you think adding a misting system from the top would help with the humidity? Any draw backs? Anyone have experience using these computer control devices to manage lights, heat and humidity?

I would add a small waterfall instead of a misting system. Even a large airstone. This will help with your humidity and will keep your water from going stale.

I also wouldnt reccomend keeping 2 pythons together. These are solitary animals that come together to mate otherwise spend their lives solo. It also makes it hard to keep track of each animals health and could lead to problems during feeding.

What kind of pythons do you have? I prefer the mistking system. You'll want to use RO water to keep the nozzles clean and flowing freely. No water stains on the glass and furniture. Waterfalls will splash and create mineral stains, and can be hard to keep clean. However if it fits what you are looking for, just be sure to research your design to hopefully circumvent any flaws ahead of time.

I use proportional control, but not with my Mistking. While this is largely related to the timeline on when I got my equipment, I still prefer having a cyclic and varying humidity. It replicates what's natural IMO.

I use my herpstat 4 to do everything in my stack, I am running 8'w x 18"h x 30" deep pvcx cages, for my biggest blood and boa. The herpstat runs the heat tape and the misting system from Cornell's world before he switched over to Mistking systems. If your set ups are all running same temps and same light schedule, I bet it would be very easy to run using the herpstat 4. Since the herpstat 4 has built in timers and sensors for the humidity, lighting schedules. If your set ups need the extra humidity I like the clean look of the misters versus the waterfall idea. But that's personal preference . Also if you want Mistking also has a single plug in timer for their systems basically you can time the systems to go on for as little as 3 seconds to torrential down pours everyday or once or twice a week as little or as much as you want.
