    Default Morph?

We just picked up 2 leopard geckos to add to our reptile collection. Haven't had these guys in a really long time and don't really know the morphs of leopard geckos. Just wondering what you guys think they may be. The owner said he thinks the male is a tangerine and the female is a rainmaker. I think the male may just be a normal but the previous owner insisted on tangerine because it has little bits on orange in the tail and a little bit in the body near its belly. Just curious what you guys think

I havent ever heard of "rainmaker" before...

I would say that the first one looks like a murphy patternless that is quite discoloured. Possibly the old owner kept them cool? Usually I see that discolouration to the skin if leos are kept off heat for a while?

The male is definately not a tangerine. The tail isnt carrot tail either. I think a high yellow. Also I think there's some stuck shed around the toes and nose. So keep up misting

    This is a tangerine:

I think the discolouration could be because the old owner had her in black sand. We moved her from her tank to one of ours to see if the sand could have dyed her. I guess we'll find out after another shed or two what her real colours are.

I didn't think the male was anything special, even with the little amounts of orange in him.

Both of these guys were pretty much rescues, owners didn't have time for them. They thought these guys were really low maintenance and you could just feed them and they would be fine. They are both being pampered now, getting misted, have more than one hide and are in a 30 gallon tank each instead of a 10 gallon.

Now that I have 2 I might need to get a couple more haha

AH! That would likely do it I had a rack heat fail on me once...and it was like "the duce...why are my geckos dark and blotchy?!"

The male is still pretty special "Back in the day" Normals and high yellows were the only morphs avaliable! Selectively line bred for yellow colouration primarily Its good they are in a good home now!

There's so many morphs out there! I was considering rounding out my collection a little bit (I generally focus on the more common morphs). This year I think I have up to 9 females breeding, so not a ton, but there may be more in my future too haha
