    Default New to turtles.

Hi all. I am new to turtles and I want set up a sort of indoor pond for a few smaller turtles, was wondering if you could recomend a breed that stays smaler and is social. I know RES are agressive and can get quite large but do they have any look alikes that don't?

Hello, try researching Reeve's turtles (Chinemys reevesii), the stay small, are very personable and typically communial. I have an adult male that lives with my 3 emydura subglobosa and there are never any problems. The Pink belly side necks (emydura subglobosa) are also very cool but get bigger than a Reeve's turtle. I can't speak to any of the other types of turtles that stay smaller since I have not kept them but I am sure someoen else will chime in.
