December 2012 Meeting Minutes

Attendees: Teena Tangen, Chad Pallesen, Jason Clevett, Kyle Kirzinger, Rob Bruley, Jessica Thornton, Clayton Horne, Andrea Witko, Glyn Hersom, Cody Faulds, Stephannie Faulds, Andrew Clarke

Meeting Started at 7:01pm
November meeting minutes reviewed and voted as accurate

Treasurers Report:
N/A Treasurer was not available

Spring Show:
Vote was passed for participating vendors to display signage on their tables offering a discount to TARAS members. We need to contact the vendors.
Waiting to determine the feasibility of the garage sale for this show
Vote was passed to have the raffle go forward. We are checking out different options for printing the raffle tickets and other items we need.
It was discussed that we need to go and measure the venue so we can come up with a table layout and start selling tables
Genisis Center is confirmed with loading on May 3rd and the show being May 4^th and 5^th 2013.
Kyle will look up school addresses for the North area of Calgary for mail outs for the spring show.

TARAS Xmas Party:
In review it was a great success. In future we will have to ensure that we are emailing the membership about social functions and events.

Facebook:
A vote was passed to close the TARAS facebook group and keep the TARAS facebook page.

Reptilemania:
A thread needs to be started by Jessica for help with the planning process and volunteer sign up.

Pet Expo:
It was discussed to see if there was enough volunteer interest to do Pet Expo again this year. A vote was passed and we are again going to Pet Expo this year. Closer to the event the volunteers, location etc. will be lined up.

Bylaws:
A vote was passed to start a poll as to the best date everyone will be available to start the process of re-writing the bylaws. It was decided to have a completely separate meeting dedicated solely to re-writing the bylaws. This will likely take place in February 2013.

Andrew Clarke:
Andrew was asked not to attend meetings for a while. This was brought up due to mixed emotions by the TARAS board and members as to Andrews participation within the society after his membership was revoked for a period of 1 year. Andrew heard from some of the members their concerns and he told the board he would think about it.

Meeting ended at 8:05pm

- Bairds Rat snakes
- Taiwan Beauty snakes
- Ridley’s Beauty snakes
