I have kept adult corns in exo-terras and they proved quite secure. Havn't had any problems with the lids, but I don't open the lid very often so wear and tear would be minimal.

Well, my guy is just a king snake, so if it works for a corn I don't see why it wouldn't for a king. So far he seems to like it. He hasn't hidden since I stuck him in it which is kind of a big deal, as he's USUALLY hiding. :P I don't plan on ever opening the top except for major landscaping, so that shouldn't really be an issue for me either. If the tabs prove to be brittle, I'll duct tape it, or buy some velcro or something. That part wasn't really a concern for me, as he's not much of a climber.

Thanks a ton for the advice guys.

I'm willing to bet that your snake climbs a lot more then you think. most likely at really late hours when people are usually sleeping. either way keep an eye on it. better safe then sorry.

His tank is in the same room I sleep in, and I'm a really light sleeper, so when he moves around at night, I hear him in the shavings. He likes to move around, but usually in a horizontal fashion. :P

Funny thing about him is that he gets mad at me at night when I'm up too late. He starts getting really ansty around the time he thinks is bedtime, and as soon as I crawl into bed, he slithers into his little house to sleep. So funny.
