Another awesome rattlesnake trip!

This is the garter snake that caused Ian's olympic like sprint out of the still partially moving vehicle! He was also incredibly excited for me to hold him, and showed this by sharing his feces all over my hand. Yum!

In our behind the scenes sneak peek we got to see several fossil's, including this well preserved turtle shell. Interestingly, nearly all fossil's on display are actually plaster mold's, as the original bones are much too delicate to be on display.


This picture does not do justice to DPP. Amazingly beautiful in person.


Oh yes, we were there to see rattlesnakes...

Recording there weight's and length, super glue is to help keep the scales down after the tag is inserted.

Sweetest face ever! This dude was a pro, despite never having been caught before. Remarkably calm. I think this is a money shot!




Another behind the scenes fossil experience, this thing was HUGE!!!

This fellow was grumpy, and decided to stay in this pose the entire time I was watching him(which was considerable), at least until they found another rattler!


I *think* this was the rattler we found that was gravid.

I was surprised at how 'soft' the rattle was, I thought it would feel much harder, but it actually felt kind of hollow, and very flexible.
