So I got a female adult emperor two weeks ago and I've been watching her very closely. She's really calm and doesn't move a whole lot. She doesn't really burrow since I have premade hideouts for them. I got a male adolescent (tan colored stinger) and I read that when you get more you want to introduce them in a seperate tank for a little but make sure there's no fighting. So I did for a little and my female I guess was trying to get acquainted with the male and it freaked him out so I put them into the normal tank and let them go from there. The male found the new hideout I made for him and so did the female. The male became aggressive and started to attack so I broke it up and let them calm down. I notices that both of them were moving their stingers back and forth quickly. They fought a little more but then stopped and just sat in the hideout together. I woke up this morning and my male was gone. My female was back in her normal hideout with a bunch of dirt in front of it. Turns out my male covered himself in dirt in the corner so I took him out of it and put him in his hideout.

So my questions are: What does it mean when they move their stngers back and forth quickly?

Can an adolescent mate with an adult?

Now that they've met and seem to know they're both in there, are they capable of living together?

Thanks.
