    Default 3rd time's the charm.

So we went out looking for snakes 3 different days two times in the morning and once in the evening. Finally found a nice rattle snake today. We really need to get a better camera suggestions would be appreciated on which cameras are better for noob photographers.

Found this little surprise the first day. He was around 9 1/2 inches tail to nose.

And what we were actually looking for

He didn't stay for long. He puffed up gave us a bit of a rattle and took off into the grass.

Your camera seems just fine, that first salamander shot looks great. It's all about lighting, and take a lot of pictures. You'll find that you can't use 90% of them but you will get some great shots in there.

Thanks again for the heads up Spankenstyne. The rattlesnake was awesome to see, and he was surprisingly much more calm than the salamander lol. I wish my camera would show off how green he was better, but yeah we take 15 pictures of something and use 2 of them generally.

It seems digital cameras are best at taking front lit subjects so have the sun at your back more or less
(up to 45` off dead centre). Take at least 3 different views of your subject (high, low or whatever) and don`t be afraid to adjust your exposure compensation. Finally, whenever possible use a tripod.

    All the best,

    John.
