By the time I got out this morning it was too hot to find snakes. However, I found a snake track crossing a sand blown trail. The multi-tool was included for size. By the way, you should never leave home without one.
The photo was converted to B & W because I thought that the trail showed somewhat better.
Although not an amphibian or a reptile, the sighting of a Monarch caterpillar in Alberta is always exciting. I saw 3 adults and 5 caterpillars along with a few eggs. If you`r interested, find a patch of milkweed plants and search for cut leaves and droppings.
