So before I post any pics, there is a bit of a back story to this whole thing. As many of you know I paired my possible het toffee male to a het albino female in hopes of proving out the toffee gene. Well I thought I was supposed to have eggs on May 8th, however I mistook a normal shed as a pre-lay shed. Well sure enough about a month after I thought the eggs were going to drop, she went through another shed. I had my fingers crossed that this was a pre-lay shed, and knew that if by chance it was I could expect eggs on Canada Day. The only problem was that I was on vacation in Ontario from June 19th to June 30th (technically until July 1st since my flight didn't land until 2 AM, but whatever).
Anyways I get back early this morning just after 2, hoping to see her at least coiled up and getting ready... instead I find her crawling around her tub like it was no big deal. At this point I figured I mistook another normal shed for a pre-lay shed.
Well I woke up this morning and decided to take a peak anways, and here is what I found...
As you can see I only have 4 good eggs and 6 slugs in the pic... I didn't think to take pictures of the eggs with mom because to be honest, mom wasn't even coiled around any of the eggs, instead they were scattered all over her bin (with the exception of one eggs which she was semi coiling).
Also I ended up checking up on her about an hour after getting the eggs in the incubator, and found two more slugs. So a total of 12 eggs, with 4 good and 8 slugs. Not the best clutch, but either way I was just happy to see the 4 good eggs.
Anyways Happy Canada Day to everyone!
Rob
P.S. I will be throwing up a quick video here tonight with a bit more of an update.
