TERMS OF SERVICE (DRAFT)

1. Users agree not to hold The Alberta Reptile and Amphibian Society (TARAS) or its agents liable for anything stated in the forums.
2. TARAS reserves the right to delete posts in violation of the site’s TOS without giving reason or explanation before or after the fact.
3. User names, avatars or signatures deemed to be profane or offensive will be changed or deleted. Any user allowing friends, visitors, siblings, and spouses etc. to post under their login name assumes the full responsibility of assuring all content posted conforms to the rules of the TOS. Failure to do so may result in a ban on the user name. Multiple user names for a single individual is prohibited. If you have received a temporary ban and you create/use another forum name to continue posting this may result in a longer ban period, or a permanent ban.
4. Using profanity is not allowed and is grounds for having your post deleted. This includes trying to bypass our filter by using alternate characters to spell a profane word. Posts deemed to be offensive will be removed immediately. Including, but not limited to; racist, sexist, religious, hateful or sexual comments or content.
5. Post messages in the correct topical forum. Off-topic posts will be moved to the appropriate forum.
6. Please do not cross-post within the TARAS forums. Making identical posts in different forums is prohibited.
7. Do not post inquiries about other breeders, pet stores and dealers, or discuss your experiences with other breeders, pet stores and dealers here on the forums. If you do want to inquire about or check out any breeders or individuals the Fauna Board of Inquiry (BOI) is the place to do it. Posts of this nature can and will be removed with or without notice. Personal attacks, discrimination/prejudice of any type including, but not limited to racism, religion, culture, gender and sexual orientation as determined by the moderators will not be tolerated and will be removed as per moderator discretion.
8. Inciting fights or partaking in deliberately disruptive behavior as determined by the moderators will not be tolerated.
9. No claiming copyrighted/plagorized images as your own. Unless you have prior permission of the copyright holder please do not use their images.
10. E-mail or private message excerpts of any type or length are not allowed unless consent is given from ALL parties involved. There are no exceptions to this rule.
11. Posting non-herp related petitions or links to non-herp related petitions is prohibited.
12. Please post all classified Ads in the classified section. Any post that is deemed classified and is not in the appropriate section will be deleted without notice.
13. Mods may send you an infraction warning if you violate any rules or to inform you of your post being deleted, edited, or moved. Please DO NOT TAKE THIS PERSONALLY, that is the only time efficient way the mods can let you know about these things. If you think the mods have been unfair to you, please contact a member of the board.
14. Posting and Sentence Structure:
    In order to keep the information here at high quality level, we are requiring that people at least attempt to form proper sentences, use punctuation, and make a good effort at spelling correctly. Posts that use 'text message' type language will be deleted. If English is not your first language please let us know. We also ask that you do not post in all caps or use large bold text to "shout" at other people.
15. The use of the words RESCUE & SOCIETY in usernames, signatures and in any way, shape or form will be limited to only those that are actually legitimate Rescues and Societies and are legally registered as such.
    
    The TOS (Terms of Service) maybe updated at any time without notice.
    
    All infractions will be dealt with at the moderators' discretion.
    
    The administrators & moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible. However, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore, you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators, or webmaster (with exception to the personal posts by these people) and hence they will not be held liable. Once a post is made it becomes public property and its content may be used by others.
    This forum is not a venue for personal or private vendettas. Keep your personal business as just that – PERSONAL. This forum is not a venue for the resolution of personal disputes with other members or companies. Please use the appropriate Board of Inquiry (BOI) located on the Fauna Classifieds. Due to liability issues with people posting negative comments about people or businesses on the forums we have to deleted any posts of this nature. This website is not here for people or business bashing, and we do not want to get into trouble over other peoples comments whether they be true or not. We have got into hot water over this before on one of the previous forums and decided we could not let this sort of thing be posted in the forums.

Any posts of this nature will be deleted.
