    Default The spider and the fly

    While weeding the flower bed in the front yard, my better half noticed a fly doing a face plant in a flower. Upon closer examination this is what we found: http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...y/IMG_0763.jpg For some reason it wouldn't let me insert the picture

    that's a great shot anyone know what species that spider is? never seen one before.

    Misumena vatia is the species. Very neat species of crab spider. The can actually change colour as to what their background is. Fairly common in Alberta, not dangerous at all.

    totally sick! if I ever spot this chamelion I may have to catch one.

    It is called a Goldenrod Crab Spider, they are very cool
